President, of the Bahrain-American Council (BAC), Dr. Sadaq Khalfallah, stressed that the efforts made by the Bahraini leadership are in harmony with the supreme goals of the United Nations and the Security Council which consist in achieving peace and security and raising the development rates.
He said in a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the world, including the USA and Europe, has realised, though late, that the unrest in Bahrain was not a revolution, as pretended, or an Arab Spring but foreign interventions that aimed to destabilise the country and the whole Arabian Gulf.
The BAC President, who is visiting Bahrain to take part in the International Youth Conference, explained that the international attitude towards what happened in Bahrain has changed greatly after the report of Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) that was headed by Professor Mahmoud Bassiouni.
He underlined the need for officials from the government, the parliament and the civil organisations to boost their communication with influential countries in decision-making and international organisations to inform the world about Bahrain’s continuous and unprecedented reforms at the regional level.
He also lauded the wisdom of the Bahraini leadership and courage in combating terrorism, promoting security as well as fostering public freedoms and democratic gains.
He praised success of the International Youth Conference, which concluded in Manama on Thursday, and the organisers’ ability to attract delegations from 32 countries to discuss alongside around 500 participants in the conference how youngsters from across the globe can achieve peace.
He expressed confidence that the recommendations of the two-day conference will be highly hailed around the world.
