Al-Buainain praised the conferences and specialized seminars organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Bahrain, reflecting the role played by the Kingdom in supporting dialogues and forums which contribute to the exchanging of experiences and views on various issues in the international scene.
This came during the speech that the Minster of State for Foreign Affairs delivered on Sunday at the opening of the preparatory meeting of the Manama Dialogue organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
The Minister said that events in the Gulf region and the Middle East have developed in new and sometimes unexpected directions, and challenges to regional security remain complex and multifaceted.
Al-Buainain said that constructive and productive discussions the Manama Dialogue serve an important purpose in establishing and consolidating direct contacts between national security officials and professionals from participating countries.
The Minister added that solutions can only be achieved through meaningful international deliberation and cooperation, whereby all concerned actors work constructively to reconcile their own interests and priorities with the overall regional security and stability, and overriding humanitarian requirements of people in need.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs hoped that this year’s Manama Dialogue contributes to boosting understanding and confidence in order to reach perpetual solutions for regional security issues.
