Chief Prosecutor, Fahad Al-Buainain, confirmed that the 3rd Criminal Court sentenced to ten years three individuals accused of attempted murder of a number of security men for a terrorist purpose, igniting a fire in a vehicle owned by the Ministry of Interior, attacking a security man, participating in a gathering, rioting and possession of Molotov cocktails.
Al-Buainain explained that the incident took place on 10/05/2012 in the Northern Governorate, where witnesses stated that a group of rioters carrying Molotov cocktails and iron bars tried to block traffic on a public road that led security men, who attended the scene, to handle the situation by use of water-gun vehicle, in their turn, the rioters attacked the security men and the water-gun vehicle using Molotov cocktails and iron bars that set fire to the water-gun vehicle and injured a number of security men, one of them was directly hit by Molotov cocktails.
He added the third Criminal Court issued its ruling to the case after defense lawyers’ arguments were listened to.
