Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa hosted this afternoon a farewell ceremony in honour of the outgoing Qatari Ambassador to Bahrain and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Shaikh Abdulla bin Thamir Bin Mohamed Al- Thani.
The Foreign Minister commended the efforts made by the Qatari Ambassador during his tenure in Bahrain, which, he said, contributed to strengthening the distinguished Bahraini-Qatari ties, noting that relations between the two countries have become a model to be followed thanks to the their wise leaderships’ constant desire to bolster joint relations in all fields.
Meanwhile, the Qatari Ambassador expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and all the officials in the Kingdom of Bahrain for their fruitful cooperation with him during his tenure in the Kingdom, wishing the Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.
At the end of the ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented the Qatari Ambassador with a commemorative gift and wished him further success.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, said that the Kingdom would continue to exert efforts in promoting, preserving and helping the humanitarian work.
HRH was talking as he met in Gudaibiya Palace Dr. Jameela Mahmoud, the winner of Isa Award for Service to Humanity.
During the meeting, HRH the Prime Minister emphasized the Government’s support to every effort aimed to make the Kingdom a platform and hub for humanitarian and voluntary work as the Kingdom is convinced that success is assured for such efforts in view of the inclination of Bahraini people on humanitarian and voluntary work by virtue of their good-natured, Islamic values and good traditions and norms.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister accentuated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness on making its humanitarian way both regionally and internationally to satisfy humanitarian needs everywhere inside the Homeland and abroad.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister praised the remarkable role undertaken by Dr. Jameela in serving humanity, boosting the principles of voluntary work, solidarity between communities regardless of geographic borders so as to reflect the brightest image of Islam and Muslim women.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, urged for the need for Islamic experiences to be supported and assisted in order for all peoples of the world to benefit from these experiences, especially in the field of humanitarian work.
