His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has urged the relevant government bodies to go ahead with their security and legal procedures against terrorists and instigators and continue taking the necessary procedures required for maintaining security and stability.
“In the state in which freedoms and laws are guaranteed, human rights are protected, citizens’ dignity is respected and all opinions are expressed in an atmosphere of democracy, there is no leniency with violence and terrorism, and attempts to exploit such environment to support terrorism, breed terrorists and put civic peace and national unity at risk cannot be tolerated,” he said.
He expressed the government’s commitment to translating the Bahraini people’s will towards protecting community from terrorism into reality through toughening penalties on terrorists.
“In a state of institutions, there is no room for incitement platforms, un-authorised entities and illegitimate sectarian organisations, and the law has to be applied against them immediately, and without delay,” he also said, pledging stringent measures against those who seek to disrupt national security and stability.
This came as HRH Premier chaired on Wednesday a high-level civil and security meeting during which he reviewed the procedures taken recently to promote transparency and openness in exercising political work according the existing legal norms, on the one hand, and deal with illegitimate organisations, incitement of terrorism, violence and terror acts, on the other.
The Prime Minister asserted that the government is resolved to take all necessary action in order to ensure the security and safety of the citizens and residents whose security, he affirmed, is integral and indivisible.
He pointed out that the security bodies have been targeted and are under constant threat by terrorists because they are committed to ensuring security and tranquility for all, citing in this regard the “martyr of duty” policeman Amer Abdul Khalid who lost his life as a result of Al-Dair terror incident.
He prayed Allah Almighty to rest the soul of policeman Abdul Khalid and those of other security forces’ martyrs in eternal peace and grant their relatives patience and consolation.
HRH Prime Minister emphasised that the government goal is to achieve security for all citizens, adding that the purpose of the security measures is protect people’s lives and safety and safeguard society from terrorism.
He pledged all support for those who show commitment to peace, national unity, exercise of political work under legal norms, openness to others and denunciation of violence in order to achieve the aspired political, economic and social development, lauding the responsible national awareness which united the nation against terrorism, extremism and violence.
“Bahrain has been known as an oasis of security and stability and will remain so,” HRH said.
HRH Premier issued instructions to adopt the political, security and legal efforts aiming to protect the secure Bahraini society from terrorism and confront it amid the challenges posing a threat to the region.
He stressed the need to exchange administrative and banking information and investigations in order to prevent the financing of terrorism and terrorist entities, affirming that all the necessary procedures and measures will continue in order to protect the community from terrorism, as required by the will of the people of Bahrain.
