The General Director of the Central Governorate announced that while police were patrolling the village of Sitra Wadyan on Thursday, a homemade bomb detonated at a deserted house.
He said that the Explosive Detection Team and the Anti-Terrorism Unit were deployed to the scene. The early investigation revealed that the bomb was fueled by a gas cylinder and also contained nails. One of the walls of the house and the front window of a nearby car were damaged in the blast.
He said that the materials were confiscated as evidence and that the Public Prosecutor was notified. An investigation was launched to identify, locate and arrest suspects related to the blast.
