His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa met in Beijing Premier of China’s State Council Li Keqiang and discussed with him growing bilateral cooperation in the defence, security, financial, economic and investment fields.
HM the King underlined Bahrain’s keenness to further promote relations with China due to historic ties binding both countries and China’s wealth of experience in the trade, production and investment fields.
He pointed out development of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and China since their establishment in 1989, stressing the importance of determining priorities to achieve a strong alliance between China and the GCC countries and remove obstacles to that.
He also lauded keenness of the Premier of China’s State Council to enhance bilateral relations, hailing joint agreements signed recently by both countries to boost cooperation in various domains.
Li Keqiang welcomed HM the King, stressing that his visit will further solidify ties binding Bahrain and China and bolster cooperation between them. He commended Bahrain’s regional status as a financial hub, underscoring China’s readiness to contribute to Bahrain’s economic development mainly in the infrastructure field.
