His Royal Highness, Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has stressed that whoever provides cover for violence and perpetrators shall share the responsibility for their crimes, noting that supporting terrorists overtly is one form of terrorism incitement.
“We will never accept any kind of compromise when it comes to the security of the homeland and the citizens,” he emphasised, adding that the slogan of pacifism loses its full credibility when those who raise it back terrorist organisations publicly.
He underlined that whoever allows himself to spread chaos and insists on continuing terrorist and incitement acts shall not expect the government to keep silent, stressing the government firm resolve to use all its capacities in order to deter terrorists and eradicate violence so as to preserve the hard-won democratic and human rights achievements in the kingdom.
He added that a fair look at the measures taken so far in combating terrorism will reveal that they are similar to those taken by the most democratic countries in this regard.
The first and most important human right is the right to live in peace and security, and this just what the government wants to achieve, he explained.
HRH Premier, who on Wednesday chaired a security and civil work meeting, said that the Government focus remained on protecting the community from terrorism through the activation of the recommendations of the National Assembly.
The Prime Minister instructed the relevant sides to continue taking legal measures against un-authorised organisations so as to rectify their situation, as required by the law, warning that the phenomenon of political sectarianism will pose a serious threat to the national identity and impede the political and democratic development.
He pointed out that failure to rectify mistakes by committing even more errors and violations will be firmly confronted, and direct and indirect calls for violence, hatred, sectarianism and violation of the law will never be tolerated.
Bahrain has always been, and will continue to be, a state of law and institutions that embraces all its citizens, regardless of their attitudes.
HRH Premier urged serious commitment to the on-going National Dialogue instead of inventing excuses to impede it, calling for the need to re-affirm commitment to the national consensus as the best means to achieve national goals, and not waste dialogue chances again.
