The national plan on Human Rights represents the basic foundation in the official human right course of work, urging the members of the committee to speed up the level of work to complete the shortfalls contained in the draft plan presented at the meeting table, in order to decide its final form and to issue it by the required legal tool, according to the Minister.
This was stated by the Minister of Human Rights Affairs, Dr. Salah Bin Ali Abdul Rahman, who chaired the 9th meeting of the Supreme Coordination Committee for Human Rights at the Ministry’s headquarters at Bahrain Financial Harbour.
The Minister was briefed on the level of implementing the decisions of the Supreme Coordination Committee by its assigned members, stressing that this would contribute in speeding up the achievement of the official human rights work.
Meanwhile, the Minister followed up with the members of the Committee, the course of work of the sub-committees emanated from the Supreme Coordination Committee, and the participants were also briefed on what has been achieved by the relevant sub-committee through setting the national plan for human rights, where the minister stressed that all personnel concerned with human rights affairs were waiting for the launch of that plan.
The Minister also asserted benefiting from the Arab successful human rights experiences in preparing the draft of the national plan, which increases benefiting from the human rights institutional accumulative experiences in the Arab sphere, pointing out that these were considered one of the results of the visits of the official Bahraini delegations to review the foreign human rights experiences.
The Minister discussed with the members of the relevant sub-committee setting controls, measures and mechanisms of the visits of the international human rights organizations to Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing that the report contained regulatory and legal mechanisms which control the human rights visits to Bahrain, of which would reflect an official awareness of the importance of setting national mechanisms and controls that were consistent with the privacy of Bahrain. This will also assert the transparency of the state in dealing with the human rights issue, and that the doors of Bahrain are open to follow and monitor the human rights achievements and civilized gains, which were accomplished thanks to the wise political leadership and the people of Bahrain for the prosperity and welfare of the Kingdom.
The participants of the meeting discussed models of the forms that would be allocated for the visit of international figures and human rights organizations, where it was conditioned to fill this form, before the visit and then it would be referred to the coordination committee for taking decision on the request. This form is an administrative procedure, which contains requesting basic information on declaring the desire to visit Bahrain, which ensures the completion of all the necessary legal procedure for the visit and those forms have been approved by the Committee.
The Minister stressed that the committee has great national duties to achieve, which reflect the level of the coordination work in the area of achieving all the human rights affairs, pointing out the national cadres and governmental competencies embraced by the committee.
