The Health Ministry vowed to release results of the inquiry into the death of the twelve-year old Fatima Hussain Ali once the ongoing investigations are completed.
Health Minister Sadiq bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi pledged to ensure the credibility of the inquiry, vowing to hold those involved in the botched medical procedure accountable.
The Health Ministry urged all parties not to anticipate results of the inquiry and allow the National Authority for the Regulation of Medical Professions and Health Services sufficient time to play its role with utmost neutrality and independence to reach the truth and take the necessary decisions.
The minister paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to his directives to suspend the two doctors suspected of botched medical procedures pending investigation.
“What happened at the Salmaniya Medical Complex last week led the wise leadership, the ministry officials and the public opinion to follow-up the tragic incident with deep concerns”, he said.
He expressed the ministry officials and personnel’s deepest sorrow, stressing their keenness on their patients’ wellbeing.
He pointed out that ministry and the national regulatory authority had launched an immediate inquiry into the causes of the girl’s death to avert any such accidents in the future.
The ministry extended thanks to all citizens and residents for their keenness on following up developments of the tragic incident and voicing deep sorrows and concerns.
