'No contact with overseas political parties without permission'

The Office of Political Societies Affairs in the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments yesterday said that H.E. the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments had issued a Ministerial Resolution adding a new article to Resolution No: 4/2005 regarding the rules for political societies contacting foreign political parties or organizations.

The Ministerial resolution stipulates that Bahraini political societies may contact foreign diplomatic or consular missions, foreign governmental organizations or representatives of foreign governments accredited in the Kingdom of Bahrain, etc, only after coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and in the presence of MoFA’s representative or someone designated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the relevant bodies.

The resolution obliges political societies interested in such contact to inform the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments at least three working days
