Servcorp hosted award ceremony on the completion of its first summer internship program in Bahrain at their premises in the Bahrain Financial Harbour.
The initiative was in line with Servcorp’s commitment and vision for the country’s upcoming generation.
The participants of the program were two deserving students from Bahrain Polytechnic Henna Ansari and Zahra Al Oraibi, who benefited from a six-week opportunity to gain excellent work experience by immersing themselves in an international corporate environment. The program was an introduction to the business management role at Servcorp, the company’s sales process, and a focused effort on the objectives of local area Marketing and PR for Servcorp’s advanced communications, technology and IT products and systems. The role of customer service and front office in Serviced Offices especially were also featured.
Primarily, the interns learned to practically apply their knowledge through a focused market research and analysis project. Working closely with Servcorp management, the young ladies were mentored as they developed marketing and communications strategies for select Servcorp target clients.
Commenting on their experience and the brief tenure at Servcorp, Ansari and Al Oraibi expressed their excitement about their plans to implement the skills they learnt during the internship in their future endeavours.
“During my internship with Servcorp Bahrain, I carried out a competitors’ analysis and came into contact with various organizations, which improved my communication skills and absolutely boosted my confidence. I most enjoyed coming up with ideas to increase Servcorp’s national virtual office sales, which required extensive research from my end and added to my professional potential. Everything neatly tied in with my studies and it really was a learning experience!”
Al Oraibi also thought the experience was constructive, “With Servcorp, I gained in-depth practical knowledge and insight on how to perform effectively in a commercial working environment. I have been inspired to definitely pursue a career in the field of Marketing and am extremely grateful to have had this opportunity,” Ansari said.
“Our collaboration with Servcorp signifies what Bahrain Polytechnic is all about, namely developing professional work-ready graduates. Through this internship opportunity, two of our students got to work on core-business projects and develop their employability skills, which are becoming the big differentiator in an ever more competitive and globalised job-market. We are particularly grateful to Servcorp and look forward to continuing our relationship into the future”
Servcorp management was equally impressed with the interns’ discipline and commitment, appreciated their conscientious approach, and is pleased to have had the opportunity to help shape future business professionals of the local Bahrain community.”
