Minister of State for Defence Affairs Lieutenant-General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa led the delegation of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) to the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).
The delegation held a meeting with NATO on ways to enhance bilateral relations in various military fields so as to consolidate the competence and preparedness of BDF different units.
The Minister of State for Defence Affairs held of talks with senior NATO’s political and military officials, including NATO’s Deputy Secretary-General Ambassador Alexander Vershbow and a number of Director-Generals of NATO’s departments.
Alexander Vershbow welcomed BDF’s military delegation, and praised the two sides’ interest to upgrade bilateral relations within the framework of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative launched between NATO and a number GCC states for the aim of consolidating regional security and stability.
