The Director-General of the Northern Governorate Police announced the arrest of one suspect from the group of saboteurs who attacked several Asians late Saturday with sharp objects and vandalised their shops in Mukharqa, Manama, injuring five of them.
He said that as soon as the incident was reported, the Public Prosecution was informed about it and the relevant security bodies rushed to the crime scene and began an immediate investigation into it, in accordance with the legal procedures required in such cases.
He pointed out that the investigation was kept strictly confidential throughout the following day due to the sensitivity of the case, noting that the identities of the other attackers have been determined.
He added the security bodies have intensified search efforts in order to arrest the remaining outlaws and refer them to the Public Prosecution.
He asserted that the security bodies are committed to assuming their duties of ensuring the security and safety of all citizens and residents.
