The Cabinet during its weekly meeting reviewed the proposed amendments aimed at tightening sanctions on anyone who misuses public money or makes profit from it.
Her Excellency, the State Minister for Information Affairs, Sameera bint Rajab told the weekly media post Cabinet meeting that the amendments in the law were associated with the provisions set for the offense of bribing a public employee, offering a bribe without accepting it and the crime of embezzlement and any harm to public money.
The Cabinet decided to return the amendment of the draft law to the concerned ministerial committee for further review.

The draft law aims to provide legal protection of personal privacy which is a fundamental constitutional right of a natural person and respect for its components and controls from any material or moral intervention.
The draft law also includes the protection of digital data which its use has become common via electronic means. This protection is put in place in order to enhance public confidence in electronic transactions through the preservation and protection of personal data that are not to be tampered with.

The draft law aims to complete the legislative structure that promotes trade and encourages investment in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The memorandum also aims to contribute to the provision of an appropriate legislative environment for international contracts and to regulate disputes in civil and commercial matters with a foreign element.
The Cabinet approved the draft law and decided to refer it to the legislative authority.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by the Deputy Prime Minister, the President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs, on the regulations of the Law Decree No. 48 for the year 2012 for the Bahraini Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Ministerial Committee decisions related to it.
The Cabinet discussed and reviewed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Shura Council and Representative Council affairs on the third session of the third legislative term of Shura Council and Representative Council for the period from Oct. 14, 2012 to Jun. 27, 2013.
The memorandum lists diverse parliamentarian practices during the above mentioned period, through an objective evaluation of the positive and negative aspects. The practices presented in the memorandum are an expression of the democracy in Bahrain during the ongoing reform project of HM the King.
