The Public Prosecution has launched an inquiry into the bomb blast which left one dead at Bani Jamra on Tuesday.
“Forensic teams were dispatched immediately to the blast scene where they found the deceased’s bleeding corpse,” Northern Governorate Chief Prosecutor Hussain Al-Buali said.
Police also seized two unidentified bodies, thought to contain two home-made bombs, a silver-colored gun loaded with fourteen bullets, in addition to two pellet bullets and four cocktail Molotov bombs.
The Public Prosecution ordered a coroner to conduct a post mortem into the causes of the death before the burial. A forensic expert has also been assigned to collect samples and examine the items seized by police to determine the cause of the blast. Witnesses who alerted police said that they had heard the blast and headed to the scene where they found a bleeding corpse lying on the ground.
