Chief Prosecutor, Muhanna Al Shaiji announced that the High Criminal Court issued a ruling against four defendants charged with attempted murder of a cleaning man in Al Adliya area.
The four defendants were also charged with forming a terrorist group among them targeting the lives of security men, the citizens and residents, exposing their lives to danger, aiming at destabilizing security and damaging the national economy, where the court ruled of imprisoning the four defendants for a period of 15 years.
Al Shaiji highlighted that the details of the incident go back to November 5th 2012, where the first defendant “main” formed a terrorist group that was joined by the rest of the defendants, who placed two locally made explosives in Al Adliya area, one of them exploded near a trash container causing injuries to one of the Asian residents.
The defendants were also charged with placing a second explosive near a power generator, where the experts could deactivate it.
The Public Security charged the defendants with forming a group contrary to the provisions of law, using terrorism as means to achieve criminal acts including attempting to kill the victim, and the passers-by with pre-meditation.
The Public Prosecution also charged them with carrying out bombing for terrorist purpose, and using explosives that endangered the lives of people, in addition to possessing such explosives to execute a terrorist purpose.
Al Shaiji pointed out that the Prosecution greatly counted on the available evidences, including the testimonies of the witnesses, the technical reports, and the re-acting of the crime, explaining how he committed it, in addition to the report of the forensic doctor.
