Jeddah Islamic Sea Port signed an agreement awarding Nesma Electric a contract for a 110/13.8 KV Substation located near to the sea port authority building.
Expanding demand for cargo and increasing port activities have raised concern of an electrical overload on the existing systems at the important Jeddah sea port. Nesma Electric will build a new substation that adds nearly 225 MVA to the capabilities of the equipment currently in use. When completed, the substation will greatly reduce the likelihood of a large-scale outage and the following significant financial losses.
The agreement was made official when signed by Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri, President Seaports Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Salah Al Sunaid, Deputy General Manager NESMA Electric at the Jeddah Islamic Sea Port headquarters in Jeddah.
The signing ceremony was attended by HRH Prince Khalid Alfaisal Governor Makkah region and HRH Prince Mishaal Bin Majed Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Governor Jeddah.
