Freeze on Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has had no impact on Tamkeen’s ongoing projects aimed at bridging the skills gaps and training of Bahrain’s private sector, according to a senior official at Tamkeen.
“LMRA levy freeze may have an impact on the cash flow of Tamkeen nevertheless such move have had no impact on the support programmes of Tamkeen,” Tamkeen’s Acting Vice President for Human Capital Development, Amal Al Kooheji told reporters on Sunday.
On contrary, she said, our board of directors continue to emphasise the role of Tamkeen support programme and impacts of such initiatives on the national economy.
The LMRA levy had been frozen by the Government as part of a relief to businesses after some difficulties surfaced during the 2011 developments. The LMRA levy has been restarted by the Government from September this year.
