The much-awaited multi-billion dollar jewellery and gems show opens at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.
The Jewellery Arabia 2013 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain opens on Tuesday at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
“The most-admired international exhibition will showcase world famous names on finished jewellery, luxury timepieces precious stones, antiques and art masterpieces from across the globe with more than 600 local and international exhibitors from 30 nations including national pavilions from Brazil, Hong Kong, India and Malaysia along with Bahrain’s very own jewelers who will display the best of their local craftsmanship and talent,” the Minister of Industry and Commerce in a statement said.
“This 22nd edition of this dazzling event which covers an event area of around 17,000 square meters will run from 19th to 23rd November 2013. Jewellery Arabia, since in inception in 1992, has firmly established itself as the largest and most prestigious jewellery and watch event in the Middle East. It is expected to attract over 46,000 visitors from various nationalities from inside and outside Bahrain last year.
Dr. Hassan Abdullah Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority, praised and expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister for his continuous support for this annual exhibition and wish all participants and exhibitors every success and visitors from other countries a pleasant stay in the island. Jewellery Arabia has special significance to Bahrain which has been a destination for traders and craftsmen from surrounding countries for thousands of years due to its illustrious pearling heritage and strategic location.
In support of the exhibition, the buying public and the industry as a whole, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s Directorate of Precious Metals and Gemstones Testing will join the exhibition to provide gemological and assaying services, and Industrial Property Directorate covering patents, design and trademarks protection.
The 30 participating countries in this year’s exhibition include Austria, Bahrain, Brazil, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
