The deployment of the Cloud OS and Hypervisor at Alba helped to reduce work hours by 75% and IT production cost by 25% through its reliable uptime information services, according to a senior official.

He speaking as Microsoft and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) successfully completed the deployment of Microsoft Windows Server 2012, which has now put Alba on the cloud computing system, thereby cutting IT operational costs substantially.
Microsoft built Windows Server 2012 from the cloud up, applying its experience operating global data centers that rely on hundreds of thousands of servers to deliver more than 200 cloud services. By deploying Windows Server 2012, Alba is now able to fulfil the company’s mission to provide IT services to the organisation with speed, agility and simplicity using a flexible and highly scalable cloud solution while cutting costs.
“Windows Server 2012 utilises advanced cloud technology and is expected to provide us with greater agility, availability and flexibility. It includes the additional advantage of having the ability to quickly build and maintain virtual environments at a minimal cost. The implementation of this system is a translation of Alba’s IT Department’s core principles of speed, agility and simplicity,” Hadi, added.
