Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba), with the aim of further strengthening business relations and cultural ties between Bahrain and Indonesia, welcomed an eight member high level delegation from Indonesian Parliament.
The delegation, which was led by Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Representative Council, Muhammad Sohibul Iman and Indonesian Ambassador to Bahrain, Chilman Arisman, was accompanied by Member of Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security from Council of Representatives, Kingdom of Bahrain, MP AbdulRahman Rashid Bumjaid.
The guests were welcomed by Alba’s Chief Operations Officer, Isa Al Ansari, Chief Financial Officer, Ali Al Baqali, Director, Power and Utilities, Amin Sultan, Manager, Reductions Lines 1-3, Nabeel Ebrahim Al Jallabi, Chairman of Alba Labour Union Ali Al Binali and Manager, Sales Asia & Pacific Yogesh Kumar as well as other senior officials from Alba.
The delegation is on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to strengthen bilateral trade relations and familiarise themselves with the country’s investment potential as well as meet with Bahrain’s industry leaders.
“It was indeed a privilege to have visited one of the world’s most modern smelters, and witness first-hand one of the important industrial sectors in Bahrain. The visit will certainly strengthen and enhance business relations between Alba and industrial companies in Indonesia,” Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Representative Council, Muhammad Sohibul Iman, said.
“We express our thanks to the Indonesian delegation for visiting Bahrain, and Alba. As the first smelter in the Middle East, Alba has played a key role in initiating the growth of Bahrain’s industrial sector and it was a privilege to share Alba’s success story with Indonesian delegation as well as promote the business friendly environment of Bahrain,” commenting on the visit of the high-powered Indonesian delegation, Alba’s Chief Operations Officer, Isa Al Ansari, said.
The delegation was given a tour of the smelter and shown the state-of-the art production processes that have enabled Alba to maintain its status as one of the region’s major aluminium smelters. A presentation highlighting the Alba’s development over the past 40 years, its status as a pioneer of economic growth Gulf, global presence of its portfolio of high grade aluminium products and its commitment to safety and environment was shown to the visitors.
