The Cabinet on Sunday reaffirmed the necessity for Bahrainis to achieve the highest levels of education to enable them to develop the necessary skills needed to attain their aspirations and continue to ensure that the quality of education and training in the Kingdom of Bahrain is at the advanced level and in line with international standards. In this context, the Cabinet reviewed the Fifth Annual Report (for the year 2013) that was prepared by the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training that reflects what was achieved during the 2012-2013 Academic year.
The Cabinet reviewed the executive steps required to establish the Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme. The Cabinet agreed to move forward in its implementation, and after taking note of the joint memorandum submitted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Electricity and Water on the measures that have been taken in this matter.
The Cabinet considered a number of options and initiatives that can be taken to provide more professionals in various disciplines that add value for the citizens in some vital sectors, including tourism. The Cabinet studied ways of examination of the degree of skill among individuals in different professions and disciplines required before granting those licenses necessary to ensure the quality and professional qualifications, demonstrating its commitment to professional standards. The Cabinet decided to refer the memorandum submitted for this purpose from the Minister of Labor to the Ministerial Committee for Services and Infrastructure.
The Cabinet approved the House of Representatives’ suggestion for the development of the old Dry Dock Road adjacent to the East side of the city of Hidd. They then assigned the Ministry of Works to include paving and maintenance of the road mentioned above in the work schedule for 2014.
The Cabinet approved the suggestion made by the House of Representatives regarding the designation of land in Salmabad in the Central Governorate to be used as an auction site for the sale of used cars.
The Cabinet approved a suggestion from the House of Representatives to expand some roads in Hamad Town.
