The Minister of State for Communications, HE Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who inaugurated Social Media Masters Forum 2013 titled improving business through social media, said the Kingdom of Bahrain’s social media community continued to play a pivotal role in the development.
HE Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of State for Communications, touched upon major developments.
The 2nd Social Media Masters Forum which is being held in collaboration with Bahrain’s Social Media Club (SMC) brought together experts with experience integrating social media into business plans and marketing, as a means of improving communication and increasing sales.
The two-day forum is being held at the Moevenpick Hotel and is being addressed by the six experts who specifically flown in Bahrain for this event.
“We have a vibrant Social Media community in Bahrain, in large part because of the efforts of organizations such as the local chapter of the international organization of Social Media Clubs, as well as the enthusiasm for tapping into new markets through social media exchanges,” the Minister, said.
“The next stage in terms of social media platforms and applications is to integrate them into the larger business and industry community, as well as government services.”
“Our aim at the Ministry of State for Communications is to support the development of new technologies and the establishment of best practices when using them to improve productivity and communications in a responsible manner,” HE Shaikh Fawaz, said.
The speakers and topics for Tuesday’s programme included Keynote Speaker Patrick Schwerdtfeger (on Social Media Victories); Multimedia Social Media Specialist Ernesto Verdugo, on the Next Dimension on Social Media; Golden Ashby on engaging your Global Social Media; Abbas Alidina on “Analyzing Social Customer Service and Boye Balogun on the Art of Real-Time Conversations.
HE Sheikh Fawaz said that the efforts of Bahrain’s Social Media Club, and its president Ali Sabkar, who brought together such an impressive panel of local, regional and international experts would help in integrating social media into business environments.
