As part of the Bahrain Petroleum Company’s efforts to boost emergency response plans, Bapco is currently conducting an intensive training for its Incident and Crisis Management teams at all levels including Executive Management.
“The Crisis Emergency & Response (CERP) Training comes in line with the industry’s best practices and standards, and comes as part of Bapco’s responsibility to ensure compliance by the team’s roles during emergencies,” Bapco’s Manager Public Relations Naji Ahmed, said.
“Two crisis management training courses for the Crisis Management Teams are currently taking place as per the new Bapco Crisis & Emergency Response Plan during the first week of December,” he added.
“This Crisis and Emergency Response Plan forms an essential part of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Policy in BAPCO. The scope of the plan has been designed to allow the company to effect an appropriate response to a number of scenarios but focuses on mid-sized to major incidents that could arise within all areas controlled or operated by the company,” he said.
“The training is a key component of Bapco’s hazard management with the aim to provide suitable provisions to deal with any potential emergency that endangers people, environment, assets or reputation. It is a commitment, which is in the best interests of Bapco’s customers, employees, and the Bahraini society at large.”
