The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) participated in a public seminar titled the “LEEA Safe Lifting Seminar & Exhibition” organised by the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association (LEEA)”, held at the Al Fanar Conference Floor of the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel.
“The seminar was held under the auspices of Bahrain’s Ministry of Labour, and was patronised by Minister HE Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, who delegated the Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Mohamed Al Ansari to open the event”, Bapco’s Manager Public Relations Naji Ahmed, said.
“The seminar discussed training and qualifications for inspectors of overhead lifting equipment, with the aim of raising health and safety standards for lifting operations”, he added. “It was conducted in Bahrain as part of a programme being held around the world in line with regular efforts to achieve a consistent, worldwide high quality standard and to continually improve safety in a high-risk industry,” he added.
Participants at the seminar included General Managers, Managers, as well as key Rigging and Lifting Equipment officials from companies all over the world. The LEEA is the main global training body for inspectors carrying out the inspection of equipment, and is the largest global trade association in the lifting equipment industry with over 720 member companies in 56 countries.
