Batelco, the Kingdom’s leading integrated communications services provider has recently carried out a major enhancement of the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital’S ICT infrastructure, to meet the medical centre’s growing needs.
Following the BDF Hospital IT team’s identification of a number of elements in their IT setup, which impacted services to their staff and the public, Batelco developed a solution to provide improved services across a number of key areas. Batelco, being a complete ICT systems integrator, was in a position to propose a mix of different technologies and brands that best suited the hospital’s IT requirements.
The overall project was implemented in phased modules, an approach that ensured minimum disturbance to the hospital’s critical network services. Batelco’s experienced project management and deployment teams worked closely with the BDF Hospital’s IT team to plan the activity and roll out the project within the agreed timeframe.
Among the solutions upgraded were the Hospital’s CCTV monitoring system and the Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure. The CCTV system has been enhanced to provide live monitoring while storing data. Additionally, a new Wireless LAN setup based on the latest technology has been installed to enable the BDF’s doctors and consultants to access patient records and multimedia files on a wireless network that provides superior coverage. Furthermore, as part of the server infrastructure upgrade, Batelco has provided the BDF Hospital with complete Data Storage and Backup applications and tape library.
Batelco Business Division General Manager Adel Daylami said that Batelco was very pleased to deliver enhanced ICT solutions to meet the BDF Hospital’s sophisticated requirements.
“Batelco’s knowledge and experience developed over many years gives the company the edge when it comes to major projects such as this. Our skilled teams are capable of designing, deploying and managing the relevant solutions to ensure optimised performance for any organisation,” he said.
