The Cabinet on Sunday stressed that the Government would not spare any effort to implement the royal directives and will start immediately to implement the goals and objectives from HM’s speech in order to provide a proper lifestyle for citizens by building 40000 housing units in the shortest period possible. In this regard, the Cabinet commissioned the Ministerial Committee for Services and Infrastructure to start drawing up plans, set a time frame and prepare funding for programs as necessary to implement the royal speech.
This came as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at the Gudaibiya Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
Dr Yaser bin Essa Al Naser, Secretary General of the Cabinet, issued a detailed statement on the meeting.
The Cabinet praised the contents of the Royal Address made by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during his patronage of the celebration that took place on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain celebrating its National Day on December 16-17 (2013) and commemoration of the establishment of modern Bahrain in the era of the founder Ahmed Al Fateh as an Arabic Islamic entity in 1783, the 42nd anniversary of joining the United Nations as a full Member State, and the 14th anniversary of HM the King’s accession to the throne.
On another note, the Cabinet welcomed the displays of good will expressed by citizens and residents during the celebrations of the Kingdom’s National Day. The Cabinet thanked and expressed appreciation for the sincere expressions of National pride that reflect the loyalty and faithfulness of the people.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince took note that all governmental entities submitted their responses within the time frame set by the coordinating committee to the National Audit Report, as well as their executive plans to address any deficiencies in their organizations. HRH the Crown Prince informed the Cabinet of the general framework to be implemented to deal with observations included in the report.
In order to ensure that the suggestions submitted by the House of Representatives that were approved by the government are implemented, the Cabinet assigned the Minister of State for follow-up to set a mechanism that enables the government to follow up the progress being made by government entities to satisfy the suggestions.
