The Director for Reformation and Rehabilitation Directorate announced the death of a precautionary-held detainee. The detainee complained from stomach-ache and had to be shifted to Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) at 6:20 pm on Tuesday.
He was examined by a physician in the Hospital and afterwards was returned to his place of custody. At about 10:20 on Wednesday, his health condition deteriorated and he was shifted to Hospital once again where he died upon arrival. The deceased was detained on charges of robbery. He had a history of chronic ailment.
The Public Prosecution was informed about the case of death and appointed a forensic doctor to perform a post-mortem autopsy in order to determine the cause of death.
