The eGovernment Authority (eGA) announced its strategic partnership for MEET ICT 2013, organized 10th -12th December 2013 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre under the patronage of Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation.
The conference, organized for the fourth consecutive year, in cooperation with Worksmart and Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH), will turn the spotlight on the Kingdom’s regional role as a key player in building ICT capabilities through hosting a prestigious gathering of international experts. Such professionals will add their experience by displaying their skills in the ICT field in order to attract audience from Bahrain and the region.
“The authority believes that ICT is a central engine in driving Bahrain’s transformation to a knowledge-based economy, a fact that the eGovernment Authority has acknowledged by partnering with organizers of events and supporting initiatives related to the growth of ICT. One of our KPIs to achieve the National eGovernment Strategy 2016 is to engage all stakeholders in improving IT readiness and building capacities,” eGovernment Authority CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, said.
“The eGovernment Authority is putting significant efforts not only in guaranteeing the success of MEET ICT, but to also achieve in positioning Bahrain globally and regionally within the ICT market,” BTECH Chairman Ubaydli AlUbaydli expressed the society’s high appreciation for the role of eGA as strategic partner participation.

MEET ICT 2013 will shed lights on a collection of main topics that encompass innovation and IT, cloud computing, social media networks, mobility techniques, IT security; in addition to featuring specialized parallel workshops to be delivered by experts in the field of information and communications technology.
As part of MEET ICT 2013 activities, a three-day Bahrain Expo will also take place from 10th to 12th December 2013 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre where ICT institutions and companies will have the opportunity to showcase their relevant activities and services. Additionally, the expo will be a meeting venue to communicate and interact with various local, regional and global organizations and experts.
Being one of the important annual conferences, the event brings together ICT decision-makers in order to discuss the Arabic strategies in the ICT field with an aim to advocate sustainable development in the Arab region. As anticipated, the event will attract over 350 persons from in and out of Bahrain.
