The General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, in cooperation with the Coast Guard, Police Aviation and various police authorities, during an operation have foiled a trafficking attempt of a large amount of drug in the northern parts of Bahrain water that worth BD375,000.
Two Bahrainis were arrested on board of the confiscated boat and more were arrested following launching an intensive investigation.
The General Director of Crime Detection and Forensic Science highlighted that the Anti-Narcotics Directorate had received a tip concerning the trafficking operation, where a maritime deployment of coast guard vessels backed up by Police Aviation in coordination with the Royal Bahrain Naval Force.
He added the boat was spotted heading towards Bahrain’s regional water, where boat identification was confirmed through the coast guard radar. The boat sailed towards Jadoom Island where the shipment was unloaded there. “The confiscated material included 105 KG of Hashish, 333 gram of Shabu and 4 bags of kabtajohn,” he explained.
The case was referred to the Public Prosecution.
