MANAMA: The Silver Jubilee edition of Bahrain’s largest business-to-consumer trade expo Autumn Fair concluded on Wednesday with a rousing success of attracting close to 200,000 visitors, according to an estimate.
The 9-day Autumn Fair had attracted 750 exhibitors from 21 countries, making it bigger than the previous edition by almost over 10%.
Organised by the Arabian Exhibition Management under the patronage of Dr Hassan A Fakhro, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, this year show marked the 25 years of great success and the must visit expo ever held of this big scale in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce in a statement confirmed that the Autumn Fair 2014 Exhibition concluded on Wednesday evening. The number of visitors and shoppers reached to 27000 on Tuesday taking the total number during the first eight days to nearly 164000.
The Ministry added that it was expecting a heavy turnout on the last day taking the total visitors during the nine days of the exhibition to nearly 193000, an average of 21000 and visitors per day, an increase of 14.4% compared to the Autumn Fair 2013.
The Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro also held talks with the AEM CEO Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and highlighted the role of the private sector by stirring the national economy as result of mega events like Autumn Fair.
The Minister praised the role played by AEM in organizing exhibitions to promote the economic site of the Kingdom to host international exhibitions that aimed to open the way for investors and familiarize them about investment opportunities available in the Kingdom.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation to the Minister for all his efforts in strengthening the economic position of the Kingdom regionally and globally and for ministry’s support for AEM.
