Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who on Sunday participated in the meeting of the Arab ministerial delegation, demanded an immediate end to Israeli settlements which would ultimately pave the way for two nation solution.
Bahrain’s Foreign Minister was speaking during a meeting in the presence of US Secretary of State John Kerry that was held in Paris on the latest developments of the Palestinian issue, peace process in the Middle East and progress of the direct talks between the Palestinians and Israelis.
The Foreign Minister affirmed that comprehensive, just and durable peace cannot be accomplished unless the Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories are immediately stopped and a full Israeli withdrawal from the 1967 occupied Arab territories and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and according to the Arab peace initiative and the related international legitimacy resolutions, praising the US unstinting efforts to ensure the continuation of the direct Israeli-Palestinian negotiations and achieving just and long-lasting peace in the Middle East.
