In line with its’ mission to enhancing the quality of land, sea, and air transport in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ministry of Transportation had inked an agreement with the global leader in managing construction risk Hill International.
As per the BD6.9 million agreement, Hill International will provide project management consultancy services for the Airport Modernization Program.
To keep pace with the aviation growth, the Ministry of Transportation and Bahrain Airport Company have developed a comprehensive development project, known as the “Airport Modernization Programme”, to elevate the Bahrain International Airport infrastructure and services. When completed, it is expected to increase the airport’s capacity to 13.5 million passengers a year.
Both sides signed agreement during Bahrain International Airshow 2014 and ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transportation and Acting Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed; Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Airport Company, Mohamed Yousif Al- Binfalah, and Senior Vice President and Managing Director Middle East at Hill International Mohammed Al-Rais.
“Hill International is on board to ensure the Airport Modernization Program stays firmly on track. We are committed to the development of an airport that fully matches the future demands of the Bahrain economy,” the Minister of Transportation said.
“The signing of agreement was a key milestone in realizing our plans for the airport. Working in close partnership with the Ministry of Transportation in developing the Kingdom’s aviation capabilities, we strive to manage Bahrain’s gateway as a leading airport while serving the future needs of the aviation industry,” Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Airport Company Mohamed Yousif Al- Binfalah, said.
“We are delighted to be appointed for this vital project. We are fully committed to the quality and time-scale of this development while adhering to the best international standards,” Mohammed Al-Rais Senior Vice President and Managing Director Middle East at Hill International, said.
