MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain’s largest business-to-consumer shopping festival Autumn Fair 2014 opened on Tuesday by the Minister of Industry of Industry and Commerce Dr Hassan A Fakhro.
The 25th edition of the Autumn Fair attracted over 750 exhibitors from 21 countries with huge variety of consumer products at display and the event enjoys the status of largest public expo held every year in Bahrain.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Hassan Fakhro after the opening of the Fair at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) affirmed the importance of trade fairs in rehabilitation the commercial sector and promote prices competition. In addition, he added, it motivates businesses to provide better and various consumer goods in high quality and competitive prices.
Dr. Fakhro also assured the Ministry’s support to Autumn Fair, as one of the most important trade fairs enjoyed by citizens and visitors, pointing out that the ministry is looking forward for greater involvement of international trades and also allow Bahraini traders to participate to add value to the Kingdom in exhibition industry sector, especially this sector attracts large number of people.
The event is one of the largest trade fairs held annually at the Exhibition Centre and will have this year a total of 750 exhibitors from 21 countries compared to 700 exhibitors last year, which includes 121 Bahraini companies.
The Minister reiterated his emphasis on the importance of such exhibitions and events in revitalizing market movement and supporting the national economy. In addition to its role in attracting international investment and enhance its economic status of the Kingdom of Bahrain as the location for organizing special exhibitions and conferences.
The event which will be spread over an area of 14,800 sqm in Hall(1),Hall(2) and Palm Hall takes place from 21 January to 29 January 2014 and expects a large turnout of visitors of about 185 thousand visitors from Bahrain and the neighboring countries especially Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
