The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) was the Gold Sponsor for the recently held Young Novelists Award 2013 (24 Hours) at the Cultural Hall in presence of over 24 participants of both genders.
The Bahrain Young Novelists Award 2013 (24 Hours) has been launched for the first time in Bahrain under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa First Deputy Chairman Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
The competition enjoys a challenge of writing a novel in 24 hours only. During the award ceremony, Bapco’s Chairman Board of Directors and Acting Chief Executive, Adel Khalil Al Moayyed, received sponsorship trophy.
He stated that the company’s sponsorship of this esteemed award is part of Bapco’s role in engaging the youth in theses ambitious programs in order to support the general Bahraini community. It should be noted that the award is the first in the Middle East region.
It aims to encourage the Bahraini youth to produce well written literature pieces through a challenge of writing a novel within 24 hours, enable the youth to present ideas and visions in a professional manner in literature, and create novelist with the ability and technique to work and write in different situations.
