His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at the Gudaibiya Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
The Cabinet reviewed the results from last week’s Cabinet meeting led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Essa Al Khalifa, and praised His Majesty’s directive which reflects forgiveness and confirms the need for everyone to take responsibility in driving away hatred and violence.
Cabinet made sure that His Majesty the King’s directives are being applied by taking precautionary measures to counter all attempts to feed and transmit the spirit of hatred. In this regard, the Cabinet discussed a number of mechanisms to reject the culture of hate and curb the spread of hostility to satisfy the King’s directives.
The Cabinet expressed the belief that everyone should speak out unequivocally against terrorism and reject it very clearly. There is no justification for violence in this matter, and those who justify it will have to bear the consequences for their position. The Cabinet directed its thanks and appreciation to everyone who has stood firmly with the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting all friendly countries that condemned the recent events threatening Bahrain, and those who didn’t, whether countries or organizations. Such terrorist acts are not only aimed at Bahrain but rather all the GCC nations are being targeted; and everyone should consider this situation in an unbiased manner in order to understand it and compare Bahrain’s reform efforts at the level of the leadership and the government with the actions of those who have taken advantage of Bahrain’s openness to political reform.
The Cabinet then discussed ways to increase the funding overseen by the Bahrain Committee for Humanitarian Aid that demonstrates the Kingdom’s efforts to provide humanitarian aid and relief at both the regional and international levels. The Cabinet instructed both the Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs and the Minister of Transportation to study the matter.
