MANAMA: His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa who chaired the regular weekly Cabinet session on Sunday thanked Bahraini people for their support to security, stability and legitimacy of rule in their country.
Briefing the media, Sameera Rajab, the State Minister for Information Affairs said that the Cabinet extended its support to the Egyptian leadership, and the stability of Egypt, as well as the refusal of Bahrain to all acts of terror targeting the security of Egypt and the region.
The Cabinet discussed, during the regular session of January 26, 2014 in Qudaibiya Palace, a number of subjects and memorandums listed on the agenda.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Minister in charge of Oil and Gas Affairs, on Extending the Agreement of Bahrain Aviation Fuelling Co (BAFCO).
BAFCO is responsible for the management, operation and supply of jet fuel at Bahrain International Airport.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Labour on the continuation of the implementation of the 1912 List for the Recruitment of University Graduates by the end of 2014.
The 1912 Draft List for the Recruitment of University Graduates aims to train, rehabilitate and provide suitable jobs for university graduates on the list and address the difficulties they face as a result of the lack of need for their specialties in the labour market, mostly in the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences and Applied Geography.
As part of this project, the ministry has succeeded in the rehabilitation, training and employment of 1199 university graduates in the private and public sectors.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Labour on the achievements of the ministry in 2013.
The memorandum includes the efforts made by the Ministry of Labour in order to push forward the economic and social development, to protect both the national and expatriate workforce, to maintain natural unemployment rates, to provide a qualified Bahraini workforce, to promote an atmosphere of trust between employers and employees as well as to push forward the process of social dialogue between the social partners.
The Cabinet discussed and agreed on a number of proposals presented by Council of Representatives, namely the investment of the Retirement Fund and the Social Insurance Organization in the industrial sector; the Allocation of part of the housing projects to divorced, widowed, and unmarried women; the development of family counselling offices; the removal of old Telecommunication Towers that are located on an allocated land for the housing project in East Hidd and the establishment of offices under the Nationality, Passports and Residence Directorate in all governorates of the Kingdom to clear the citizens transactions.
