Bahrain welcomed EU delegations wishing to visit Manama and get firsthand information on the ground.
“Delegations representing the EU Parliament and any other EU organisations are most welcome to visit Bahrain for truth to be revealed beyond any reports or external statements”, MP Abdullah bin Huwail said.
Vice Chairman of Parliament Human Rights Committee, MP Huweil is part of legislative delegation, currently on an official visit to European Parliament headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The delegation held a series of meetings with EU Parliament legislative blocs and partisan groups to discuss cooperation and update them on the internal situation in Bahrain in total transparency.
The legislative team outlined Bahrain’s political and human rights strides, stressing resolve to continue the democratic march to achieve more landmark reforms for the sake of people. Led by MP Ahmed Al-Mullah, the delegation also includes MPs Ahmed Al-Saati, Abdullah bin Huweil, Latifa Al-Qaoud and Abdulrahman Boumjeed.
The delegation plans to tour other European capitals and meet representatives of EU Parliaments and other officials and update them developments of the national dialogue. In Brussels, the delegation met EU Parliament Groups and discussed remarks featuring in previous reports regarding the situation in Bahrain. They pointed out that the reports are one-sided, relying on a single Bahraini party, which backed by biased human rights and media organisations.
