Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, inspected Al-Sakhir Airbase where he was informed about the on-going preparations for the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS 2014).
Upon arrival, the Commander-in-Chief was welcomed by the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations Major-General Dheyab Saqr Al-Nuaimi and Commander of the Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF) Air Vice-Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
He inspected the work progress and was briefed on the latest preparations, as well as the work of the organising sub-committees.
He was also informed about the security measures put in place to ensure the safety of civil and military planes and visitors during air shows.
Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa expressed satisfaction over the preparations made so far to ensure the success of the third edition of BIAS, a distinguished event reflecting Bahrain’s success stories.
He affirmed that BIAS 2014 proves the Kingdom’s pioneering position regarding the hosting of prestigious international events.
He thanked the organisers and participants in such a world event, praising the equipment and facilities of the show.
He also voiced confidence in the ability of Bahraini cadres in preparing the event according to world standards.
Director of BDF’s General Command’s Court Major-General Youssef Ahmed Al-Jalahma and a number of BDF senior officers were present.
