Batelco welcomed two groups of students from Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Institute of Technology for Boys to Batelco Telephone House, located in Salmaniya. The visit forms part of the Company’s commitment to education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“Batelco is well known for its support of community initiatives, with particular emphasis on programmes that provide opportunities for the development of young people,” Batelco in a statement said.
Batelco Network Engineer Ali Jaber presented a class on Mobile Engineering with a question and answer session for the students. The visit also included a tour of Batelco’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) to give the boys’s first hand experience on how Batelco’s skilled technical teams monitor Batelco’s networks around the clock using state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. Batelco NOC Professional Engineer Saeed Asadalla provided details about the NOC and answered a number of questions from the boys.
Programmes such as University and Technical School visits form part of Batelco’s Corporate Social Responsibility plans with the aim of giving students the opportunity to learn about telecommunications and experience the work environment at Batelco.
