SAKHIR AIRBASE: The UK Ministry of Defence is keen on furthering the talks to sell Typhoon fighters to Bahrain following the interest shown in these state-of-the-art fighter jets by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during an historic visit to Great Britain in October last.
Adam Thomas, Senior Press Officer at Defence & Security Organisation of the UK on Wednesday told The24X7News that the UK was considering the interest shown by HM King Hamad in the Typhoon aircraft during his visit to the UK last year.
“Bahrain is a great friend of the UK and is continuing following up discussions with the authorities to explore the opportunities on the possible sale of these aircraft to Bahrain,” Adam, added.
Adam is accompanying the UK Defence Secretary who is taking part in the Bahrain International Airshow 2014.
Typhoon gives air forces the capability to effectively deliver a full spectrum of air operations – from air policing and peace support, through to high intensity conflict, thanks to its inherent flexibility and adaptability. The aircraft’s swing-role capability provides the widest possible range of air-to-air and air-to-surface mission profiles.
Together with our partners we have developed an aircraft that boasts unrivalled combat capability, impressive situational awareness, high survivability and the most advanced array of integrated sensors. In short, Typhoon is a total solution for any modern air force.
