MANAMA: The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning on the procedures for imported consignments of animals.
The Official Spokesperson and the State Minister for Information Affairs, Sameera Rajab in her weekly post cabinet meeting briefing said that the draft procedures cover the licensing for the import of live animals and the health requirements and quarantine procedures.
The memorandum includes detailed procedures which the ministry proposes in the field of imported consignments of animals, according to the Unified Quarantine Law of the GCC states No. (8) for the year 2003 and its implementing regulations issued by Resolution No. (7) for the year 2004 to organize the procedures of import and quarantine as well as to take into account the criteria adopted by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Transportation, Acting Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board (EDB) on the investment partnerships Draft Law.
The Draft Law, prepared in cooperation between the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Central Bank of Bahrain aims to modernize the system of financial services legislation to enhance the competitiveness of this sector.
The Cabinet decided to refer the matter to the ministerial committee for legal affairs for further review.
The Cabinet discussed and agreed on a number of proposals presented by the Council of Representatives, namely constructing a walking track, rest areas, and public facilities on the east coast of Hidd; conducting a study on the increasing numbers of privately owned vehicles in Bahrain, and finding appropriate solutions; setting up new mechanisms to speed the process of endorsement, accreditation and validation of academic qualifications and constructing housing projects in the north of Muharraq Governorate, in the areas of Busaiteen and east Qalali.
