MANILA: On the directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain pledged to build 500 housing units in the most affected areas in Philippines in addition to two vocational institutions.
This was announced in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Philippine Vice-President Jejomar Binay, during a signing ceremony to build two vocational training centres, carrying the name of “Bahrain”, and 500-home residential complex, as part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s charitable support to the people of the Philippines after the typhoon which befell the country, was held at Subic city.
The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Filipino Red Cross Committee Richard Gordan, on behalf of the Philippine side, and RCO Secretary-General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, on behalf of Bahrain.
The Secretary-General of Bahrain Red Crescent Fawzi Amine also signed an agreement to build a residential complex comprising 500 homes in the most affected areas.
Shaikh Nasser extended sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude to HM King Hamad, RCO Honorary President, for his kind humanitarian initiatives to help the needy and provide relief aid to disaster-stricken people, which reflects the Royal keenness to support needy people wherever they may be out of the humanitarian ties bonding the kingdom with all peoples of the world.
He added that the kind Royal gesture affirms the outstanding friendly ties bonding Bahrain and the Philippines.
He said upon directives from HM the King, the agreements to build two vocational training centres and 500 homes to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan were signed, which, he noted, reflects Bahrain’s keenness to provide outstanding humanitarian support to the victims and launch development projects that benefit all.
He added that RCO will continue its humanitarian work aiming to reduce the sufferings of the friendly people of the Philippines, in line with the directives of the kingdom’s wise leadership and government.
Shaikh Nasser conveyed greetings of HM the King and wishes of further progress and prosperity to the friendly people of the Philippines.
He voiced pride in translating HM the King’s humanitarian initiatives into the ground and implementing development projects to people of the Philippines.
He lauded the solid historical ties bonding the two countries and their friendly peoples.
“We are reaping the fruit of the outstanding brotherly ties bonding the two countries at all levels –leadership, government and people,” he said.
The Philippine Vice-President Jejomar Binay expressed, on behalf of the Philippine President and people, sincere thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad and the Bahraini government and people, lauding HM the King’s humanitarian stances in support of disaster-stricken people all over the world.
He praised the Kingdom’s support for his country during such sad circumstances, which, he said, will strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation relations.
He expressed pride in the solid ties bonding the two countries in all fields.
He lauded Shaikh Nasser’s efforts to implement HM the King’s kind directives to support needy and disaster-stricken people across the world.
He praised RCO’s humanitarian role and said that its outstanding services have enhanced its prestigious reputation in delivering humanitarian and relief aid.
RCO Secretary-General said that Bahrain will stand by the friendly people of the Philippines and support the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, pledging that RCO, led by Shaikh Nasser, will implement the projects quickly and continue launching similar initiatives to reduce the their sufferings.
