MANAMA: Human Rights Affairs Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman said that the Kingdom has adopted an advanced approach through signing and ratifying a number of international conventions and amending its national laws so as to be in conformity with developed human rights legislations.
The Minister said that Bahrain was keen on consolidating cooperation and coordination with OHCHR through availing of its training and technical potentials to build capacities to advance human rights work.
He affirmed that human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain are guaranteed by the constitution.

Dr. Salah welcomed the technical delegation’s visit, noting that it will play a major role in developing scientific, objective and useful findings that enhance the human rights march in the kingdom.
He pointed out that Bahrain has established national institutions tasked with accountability and human rights assessment at all levels, citing, mainly, the Office of the Ombudsman at the Interior Ministry, the High Commission for the Rights of Prisoners and Detainees, the National Institution for Human Rights and the Human Rights Committees at the Representatives and Shura Councils.
The Minister reviewed with the team its expected visits to officials and relevant sides in order to be briefed about the latest national developments.
He also issued instructions to form a joint committee comprising representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Human Rights Affairs to facilitate the technical team’s visits and ensure the delegation’s mission.
