MANAMA: Minister of Transportation and Acting CEO of the Economic Development Board (EDB) Kamal bin Ahmed said that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to India is in line with the Kingdom’s keen interest to bolster its historical ties with India and South Asian countries and open up new horizons of joint cooperation in all fields.
The minister said that a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding will be signed with India, whose economy is the third in Asia and the fastest growing in the world.
He said that the HM the King’s visit to India is meant to re-affirm Bahrain’s interest to boost its deep-rooted ties with India which boasts of a strong economy and a great number of investors who can take advantage of Bahrain’s strategic location and investment incentives to enter the 1.5 trillion USD GCC market.
He pointed out that the visit of the Bahraini economic delegation to India last month was welcomed by Indian investors and businessmen, noting that the Indian sides were informed about Bahrain’s economic potentials and incentives provided for investors.
He pointed out that a 120-member delegation will visit New Delhi on the sidelines of the Royal visit to discuss areas of cooperation with Indian companies, adding that the move is in line with Bahrain’s desire to promote its position as a hub of investments.
He emphasised that the Royal visit will boost trade cooperation with India through a number of agreements that are expected to attract more Indian investors.
