MANAMA: Human Rights Affairs Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman on Tuesday admitted the fact that despite many human rights achievements the Kingdom of Bahrain fails to pacify the critics especially from the Western countries as well as NGOs.
The Minister was responding to a question about the Kingdom’s failure to present a fact sheet to the regular critics of Bahrain’s human rights status.
“This subject is relevant and sensitive as Bahrain has had witnessed many strides with major achievements on all major fronts in human rights,” he said.
The Minister, who was joined by his team including Khalifa Yusuf Al Kaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for Coordination and Follow-up of Human Rights Affairs; Mohammed Juma Fuzia, Director of Treaties and Legal Affairs; Mohammed Rashed Al Suwaidi, Director of Monitoring, Research and Translation and Sara Buhiji, said that protection of human rights and national dialogue continues to be hallmarks of Bahrain’s openness.
He also highlighted the importance of legal framework safeguarding the human rights and said Bahrain would continue to be a tolerant and cohesive society.
