MANAMA: General Directorate of External Communication (GDEC) at the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) on Thursday launched the first issuance of photobook entitled (100 photographs of my homeland), which includes top 100 historical, artifactual, tourist and economic photos of Bahrain, as part of the GDEC’s celebrations on the 13th anniversary of the adoption of the National Action Charter.
GDEC’s Acting Director General, Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, pointed out the book is the product of a competition organized by the IAA’s Journalistic Affairs Department for the best hundred photographs documenting the cultural, historical, intellectual and humanitarian heritage development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to the achievements took place in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He, during honoring best three photographers, Mohammad Sadiq Al-Asfoor, Alexander John and Mohammad Jassim Saleem, expressed gratitude to the jury committee and the participants for documenting Bahrain’s history and loyalty to the wise leadership.
He pointed out the GDEC’s keenness to encourage the spirit of creativity and competiveness among citizens and residents, expressing delight in showcasing the 100 photographs in the City Centre Mall from 13-15 February on the occasion of Bahrain celebrations of the 13th anniversary of the adoption of the National Action Charter that represents the launch of the royal reforms and the unprecedented achievements in democratic, human rights, freedom of thoughts and development of the civil society.
