MANAMA: Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP) has attracted over $1.8billion investment commitments in various projects which upon completion will create 10,000 new jobs, according to the Minister of Industry and Commerce.
“These projects have an associated commitment to invest BD687m (US$ 1.8b) and to employ over 10,000 people at full production.
Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro Minister of Industry and Commerce announced record investment results for the Bahrain International Investment Park.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Hassan Abdulla Fakhro chaired the first Bahrain International Investment Park Committee meeting for 2014.
The meeting discussed the results and accorded approvals for various investment projects in the fields of industry, global services, which bringing the total number of the project approved since the beginning of the operation of the Bahrain International Investment Park to 105 projects to set up their operations in the region.
The Minister indicated that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, main objective to be achieved through the of the Bahrain International Investment Park is to attract high quality projects are adding values to the Bahraini economy and line with the aspirations of the government leaderships and an investigation of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
