MANAMA: The Official Spokesperson and the State Minister for Information Affairs, Sameera Rajab on Sunday ruled out including terrorist groups in national dialogue.
Sameera Rajab, in her weekly post cabinet meeting briefing was replying to a question and said that while the Kingdom of Bahrain firmly believes in dialogue as the way forward to iron out differences except the terrorist groups.
“We are reviewing all the visions submitted by all the political parties and any development in this regard will be announced at a later stage,” she added.
She said that HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister chaired the regular Cabinet session of Sunday the 23rd of February 2014.
At the beginning of the session, HRH the Prime Minister praised His Majesty the King’s successful visit to India, which led to the signing of important agreements between the two countries.
The Cabinet also discussed the follow-up on housing projects currently under construction in the Kingdom, in addition to discussing the issue of dilapidated houses as important projects for citizens and are an indispensable part of implementing the government’s development programme.
HRH the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation between the three authorities and the importance of mutual meetings with the Legislative authority, as this would guarantee the success of development and reform projects of His Majesty the King
The Cabinet discussed, during the regular session of February 23, 2014 in Qudaibiya Palace, a number of subjects and memorandums listed on the agenda. The following decisions were made on restructuring of the Central Informatics and Communications Organization; the Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, Vice President of the Civil Service Bureau on the restructuring of the Central Informatics and Communications Organization.
This proposal aims to restructure the Central Informatics and Communications Organization, following the establishment of the Ministry of State for Telecommunications. The Communications Directorate will be become part of the new Ministry of State and the word “Communications” will be removed from the Central Informatics and Communications Organization.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning on the building permits issued during the year 2013.
The report showed the number of building permits issued by the Comprehensive Municipal Center in 2013 were approximately 727 permits in the various governorates of the Kingdom, covering 2,291,959 square meters. It also showed the estimated cost of the projects and their contribution to the urban and economic development in Bahrain.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Works on beginning the trial operation of the sewage treatment plant in Muharraq.
The amount treated by the plant will be 100,000 cubic meters per day and can be increased to 160000 cubic meters. Tunnels were used in this project for the first time in Bahrain, with a total length of 16 km and a depth of 15 meters.
This project will ease the burden on Tubli plant, on the one hand, and will stop flooding problems in the areas of Hidd and the northern villages of Muharraq, on the other hand.
